I never planned to start a yacht company.

My lifelong dream has always been to sail around the world. I was in the process of flying around the globe, visiting countless shipyards in search of the right builder for my own boat. But due to personal family reasons, I had to put the project on hold. At the time I didn’t understand why—but I’ve always been fatalistic and believe nothing happens by chance. In hindsight, the reason became clear.

During that time I met Mike, an award-winning builder whose track record in the marine industry is unmatched. He had designed and delivered boats that won international awards, inspired loyal owners, and earned respect across the sailing world. Yet his own venture was coming to a close. What might have been the end of one story became the beginning of another.

Together we saw the opportunity: to take the foundations Mike had created, enhance them, and build something new. Not just another boatyard, but a brand with a clear philosophy—performance without compromise. Lightweight, high-performance yachts that can go the distance. Big range. Big freedom.

That vision became Quasar Yachts. From the start, it has never been about following industry traditions or chasing volume. It has been about asking better questions: Why can’t a performance catamaran also be comfortable to live aboard? Why should a cruising yacht be heavy and slow? Why settle for compromise when you could have clarity, speed, and freedom?

Our answer is a new generation of yachts—catamarans, monohulls, and powercats—all built around the same DNA: light, fast, and capable of going further than you imagined possible. These are yachts designed not just to move you across the water, but to move you toward possibility.

I never set out to start a yacht company. But when the opportunity came, I chose to build something that I myself had been searching for: a brand that believes performance and adventure belong together.

Mike Eaton brings decades of hands-on boatbuilding experience and a track record of international recognition to Quasar Yachts. Known for his relentless focus on performance, quality, and innovation, Mike has been behind some of the most celebrated yachts of the past 40 years.

His work has earned multiple prestigious awards across three continents, including:

  • RYA Yacht of the Year (UK, 1998) — Seaquest Prima 38

  • Race Boat of the Year (USA, 2005) — Seaquest 36

  • Arabian Boat Builder of the Year (2007 & 2008) — Seaquest 34

Each of these projects carried Mike’s signature approach: lightweight construction, uncompromising attention to detail, and a drive to deliver performance yachts that exceed expectations.

As Head of Production at Quasar Yachts, Mike leads every aspect of the build process—from overseeing the yard and coordinating with suppliers to ensuring that each yacht embodies the DNA of lightness, speed, and long-range capability. His combination of practical know-how and award-winning pedigree ensures that every Quasar yacht is built to the highest standard.

Mike’s reputation has always been built on results: boats that win, endure, and inspire. At Quasar Yachts, his role is to make sure our vision for next-generation catamarans, monohulls, and powercats becomes a reality on the water.
